It turns out that no amount of propaganda from transgender activists can convince people that their eyes are lying to them when it comes to sports.

According to a Washington Examiner/YouGov poll , 53% of people oppose allowing athletes to play on the team that matches their “gender identity” instead of their biological sex. More people strongly oppose it (41%) than have any level of support for it (29%). It isn’t simply a result of Republican outrage either, with 51% of independents opposing it along with 34% of Democrats.

It isn’t hard to see why. Everyone expects sports to be fair and for rules to be followed, especially at the younger levels. Everyone can plainly see the difference between a high school boy dunking a basketball and a professional women’s player not being able to do the same. Everyone understands the natural differences in strength, speed, and size between the average male athlete and even the top female athletes in most sports.

Many people are content to take a live and let live approach to the rise in people claiming to be transgender in other areas of life, but those accommodations only extend so far. The farcical claim that there is no difference between being male and female and people can simply choose which one they “identify” as is most laughable in sports. No one is buying it, nor should they.

Most people haven’t lost their minds to the transgender movement yet, and they likely won’t as long as sports showcase the biological differences between men and women. No one wants to see mediocre male athletes dominate women’s competitions, even if they are willing to let those men pretend to be women in other areas of life.
