Just as UH-Hilo lost for the second consecutive time in the Rainbow Classic at the Stan Sheriff Center on Thursday, there is a difference between Class I and Class II basketball.

Pacific University, not to be confused with the Class III Pacific University boxer, defeated Vulcan 85-74 in the UHH exhibition, which lost in most major statistical categories. The Tigers have a better shooting percentage (54% to 45%), better rebounds (36-28), and better ball handling (14-15 turnovers).

For those who like Rainbow Wahine volleyball, Pacific is a familiar and uncommon opponent. The last time Wahine played against the Tigers was in 2016 and swept them at the Stan Sheriff Center. Prior to this, UH had won five sets at the Sheriff's Center in 2012.

Aniwani Tait-Jones scored 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting, while Darren Williams, Donald McHenry and Ethan Jetter each scored 11 points for the Vulcan team. They started the craziest travel plan in UHH history.

Luke Avdalovic 17 points, Jeremiah Bailey 16 points, Pierre Crockrell II 14 points, Alfonso Anderson leads the Bengals (1-1) with 10 points. They were selected for eighth place in the West Coast Conference of 10 teams. The dominant was selected by Gonzaga and won the championship 10 times in a row.

UHH flew home and will host an important game at 7 o'clock in the evening in Hilo Civic to host the NAIA School Simpson Red Hawks from California.

Then the Vulcan team flew back to Oahu to face Northern Colorado I in the Rainbow Classic on Saturday, which is a very important game.

At 3 o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, UHH flew home to host Simpson again in Hilo Civic.

After a day's rest, the Vulcans played host to Alaska Anchorage in a non-conference game held in Hilo Civic at 7pm on Tuesday night.
