With 7 laps left in Martinsville, the battle for the lead between Bowman and Hamlin ended in failure. Bowman slid onto the track at the entrance of Turn 3, trapping Hamlin in the rear left. And let him withdraw from the competition. Hamlin furious afterwards, interrupted Bowman's triumph burnout, and then made comments that sparked Bowman's new T-shirt.

This is the second time Bowman wore a T-shirt this season to celebrate his victory. Bauman's victory in Martinsville was his fourth victory of the season, breaking his career best result after winning a single game in 2019 and 2020.
