Huffin’ for the Stuffin’ 5K

Fleet Feet is hosting the fourth annual Huffin' for the Stuffin' 5K Nov. 24 in the Carnes Crossroads community.

The race takes place at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. Run with your family and friends, then be back in time for your turkey dinner. All proceeds from the race will go to Dorchester Paws and the City of Goose Creek Police Department "Shop With A Badge" program.

Summerville’s Gerry Purvis made a hole in one at The Golf Club at Wescott Plantation's Black Robin course. Purvis drove the ball 115 yards to ace Hole 4. Witnesses were George Howard and John Lienau.

The annual Team William Walk to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is scheduled for 2 p.m. Oct. 23. Those wanting to support Team William by participating in the walk, making a tax deductible donation or purchasing a Team William T-Shirt can find information on how to do so through the foundation’s website (https://www2.jdrf.org/site/SPageServer?pagename=walk_homepage). William Wimberly, now a Summerville High School senior, and his family have organized a team to participate in the JDRF OneWalk for 15 years.
