In Sunday's 26-23 overtime victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, the 49ers had a very good game plan for receiving the ball in the hands of George Kittle.

Kittle was targeted 15 times, and the close end ended with a season-high 13 catches, the second most catch in his career. He touched down for the sixth time in the 49ers' last six games and finished with a game-high 151 yard catch. This is nothing new for Kittle, especially after a calf injury.

In fact, since returning to the 49ers in Week 9, Kittle has been the NFL's best close end. Just look at these numbers.

What George Kittle did after returning from injury in Week 9:-38 catches (most tied for all TEs)-530 yards (120 yards more than any other TE)-6 catches TD (mostly NFL player)-125.5 fantasy points (mostly in TE) this person is unstoppable.

That was after Kittle had only 19 catches for 227 yards and failed to score in the 49ers' first four games.

Kittel admitted on Thursday that his calf injury actually first occurred in Week 1 and gradually worsened until he had to be absent for several weeks. He called this the most serious injury in his career except for a broken foot, and said he felt pain every step he took.

Now that he is healthier, Kittle is back to his way of rule. In the 49ers game against the Bengals, his best self shined, and this game finally won a much-needed victory for the San Francisco team.
